As you can tell from the images Jessica is a very fun person to be around. Her personality is magnetic. We laughed the whole time. Especially when I told her to be serious! Thanks Jessica!
At last! The images have been processed and the couple has seen them so I can add them to the blog! I have really been excited about posting these images. This wedding was quite unique in many ways. First because of how we came to book this wedding. The mother of the groom is a professional wedding photographer in southern Oklahoma and we have been great friends for many years. So it was an honor to be asked to photograph her son’s wedding.
Second of all, it was a destination wedding, and while we love those there is always the added stress of the unknown. But in Eureka Springs everything is beautiful, so we overcame that without much difficulty.
Third was that we could not use the wedding chapel for photography due to the chapel’s schedule. So the couple decided we would do ALL of their photography the morning before the wedding. These two amazing people got up early and ran all over Eureka Springs with me TEN HOURS before their actual ceremony.
And then, as sort of icing on the cake, so to speak, the bride got dressed in the Houdini theme room at the hotel so we had all this fabulous red color and Houdini artwork for extra flare! And at the end of the night the reception was held at a newly remodeled club so we just had to take advantage of the beautiful new bar. I have to say this was an amazing day. It is very rare that I get to spend two hours photographing the couple by themselves just being in love.
These are my 24 favorites of the couple, just the couple on their wedding day. I want to thank Erin and Kelly for just being themselves, completely in love and allowing me to capture that emotion.
As with all of our senior we had a great time with Shannon. She has a beautiful, unique look and she is ABSOLUTELY NOT camera shy! I love that! Shannon was also the first to be photographed on our new yellow (ish) background. I'm very excited about all of the colors in this drop. Lucky for me she brought the perfect yellow top. And as always here are my 8 favs!
My Family
My sister and I try to get our kids together at least once a year specifically for photographs. I have to say it gets harder every year. Kaila is a senior this year and her schedule is really wild. Add Xander's Tae Kwon Do classes and Paige's dance classes to our weekend schedule and it's a wonder we make it fit but we always manage somehow. Misti told me this year she really wanted "something different" so I told them all to look tough and give me attitude. Kaila, Xander and Paige managed it pretty well but Ian (he's the little one) just looks cute all the time. I have TONS more but since these are supposed to be Christmas gifts I can't spoil the surprise.
Like I said in my last post we went to Eureka Springs to photograph a wedding over the weekend. But that got me to thinking that I've never posted wedding images on the blog. So I decided to change that. These are not the Eureka Springs wedding but instead they are from a wonderful wedding we photographed about a month ago. This is Kent and Chelsey. The first images are from Chelsey's Bridal Portrait session. We had the most amazing time together with her mom.
The rest are from the wedding day. These are my very top of the list favs jazzed up a bit just for fun.
It was an honor and a pleasure to be a part of their day.
Wedding fun!
Just a quick note to let you know that we will be closed Thursday the 24th through Monday the 29th. We'll be back open on Tuesday the 30th. We are headed to Eureka Springs to photograph a wedding. We are really looking forward to it. Erin and Kelly are a lot of fun and Eureka Springs is beautiful. Sounds like the perfect combination. I'll post some images when we get back. See ya Tuesday!
I feel a bit like a broken record because I'm always going on about how much fun I have during senior sessions but I can't help it that's just how they are. Every senior brings something different to their session and I do my best to make it an enjoyable experience. I had a great time with Erin. She's a sweetheart and was up for anything. Including driving around looking for this certain tree that her boyfriend suggested we find. Well we didn't find it BUT we did find this awesome rusty barn surrounded by weeds that was just too cool with the contrasting antique sofa and her formal gown. And the evening light gave everything a warm, rich feel. I have to give props to Bobby, Erin's boyfriend. When I pulled into this weedy area he hopped right out and helped unload the sofa then carried Erin over and sat her down on it so she didn't mess up her dress in the weeds. Talk about a nice guy! I could go on and on about this session but instead I'll just get to the pics. It was hard to narrow down to just 8. Enjoy!
