Beautiful People, Beautiful Light

It's been a wild couple of weeks with all of the family portrait sessions before the holidays. But I had to stop and take a moment to share a favorite from a new lighting technique. These young people are gorgeous to begin with, add to that the new technique that emphasizes the warm skin tones and phenomenal eyes, and you've got a BEAUTIFUL image. I LOVE IT! You really should come by the studio and see it BIG. The internet can't possibly do it justice.

Ozarks Awards!

Last weekend we attended the Professional Photographers of the Ozarks fall convention and print competition. We had a lot of fun and learned some awesome new techniques from the two amazing speakers Craig Kienast and Larry Peters. It was an honor to have such amazing talent so close to home. I also entered my print case in the Ozarks print competition. The Ozarks group consists of photographers from Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. My print case did pretty well, I won seven awards and two judges choice ribbons. Here’s the breakdown.

Dreamweaver ~ Second place electronic imaging, Kodak Gallery Award, People’s Choice Award (voted on by the all convention attendees.) And two judges choice ribbons. Windswept Romance ~ First Place Wedding image and Fuji Masterpiece award. Can you take the heat? ~ First place Commercial image and Kodak Gallery Award. All six prints in my case received scores of 80 and above.

As you can see there are oranges in the awards picture. Funny story! The Kodak Gallery and Fuji Masterpiece awards did not arrive in time to be given out at the awards banquet so the fun loving group on the print committee decided to write “KODAK” on oranges so we would have something to hold for our acceptance photos! Too Fun!

Needless to say we had a wonderful weekend and can’t wait to go back to the Ozarks!
