Dancers

I love dancers. That's not a big secret really, my daughter is a dancer. But I find myself really drawn in by their grace. This image of Megan was taken earlier this summer but I ran across it again and just had to share it now that i am being a better blogger.

Julie Starlet Style

This is my dear friend Julie. She’s one of those really good friends that I call and say “Hey wanna play?” And she responds with “When and what should I wear?” Like Andrea, Julie had to stay in some pretty uncomfortable positions while if fiddled with these Hollywood lights. But she just smiled and said it was fine because she felt like a movie star! Well Jules, you look like one too! Thanks for modeling. I puffy heart you!

Amazing Eyes

Meet Dausha, she is one of our 09 seniors from Watonga. Doesn’t she have the most amazing eyes? And this is all Dausha, no eye enhancement on my part. What has been done to these images was done to the entire image and not specifically to the eyes. They just seemed to reflect whatever color we were shooting around.
I need to give a shout out to Dausha’s dad too. He came along to the session and was very handy with a reflector. I always appreciate the help!

Learning Hollywood Lighting.

In an effort to keep things fresh as well as challenge myself I have decided to try and perfect the old Hollywood lighting style. So I found some old Hollywood lights and called some good friends and clients to come be my models. Technically Brice was the first person I photographed with these lights and his Buddy Holly look is awesome. Andrea here is the second. Her inspiration was Judy Garland, Sherilyn Fenn, and Greta Garbo just to name a few. My inspiration was Clarence Sinclair Bull and George Hurrell (30’s and 40’s Hollywood photographers.) We had a blast! Andrea was awesome to work with. Not to mention stunningly beautiful! These are just a couple of my favorites.

Three times the fun!

First time for everything!

When the parents of these little darlings came in for their appointment they were a bit apprehensive. This was to be the first professional portrait of the threesome and they were concerned about a “triple melt down.” I have to admit, I was nervous myself as I had never photographed a set of triplets before. So we had a nice chuckle about being “all in it together” and forged ahead. As it turned out it was a great experience for all of us. No melt downs at all, me or the children.

Brice as Buddy Holly

Brice

Just another great example of why I LOVE seniors. Brice "dances to the beat of his own drum" and when he said he wanted a "Buddy Holly" look I got really excited. Personally I think we pulled it off pretty well!

Molly

Molly, Sr 09

What a fun way to spend a morning. It's always great to work with seniors. Molly is full of positive energy and a contagious smile. We had a great time at her house and around her neighborhood finding lots of areas with beautiful backgrounds. Best of all they are all unique and personal to her and her family.
I also want to extend a big "thank you" to her older sister Katie for her handy reflector work!
